* Brazil
Brazil’s air conditioner market did not grow as fast as expected in 2012, due to weather patterns and somewhat slower economic growth. The 2012 air conditioner market came to nearly 3.2 million units, down 1.6% compared with the previous year. Despite the market challenges, however, with its large population, growing middle class, and low air conditioner penetration, Brazil is still an attractive market. The market in 2013 is expected to post double-digit growth.
