1. Supply of Two Major Refrigerants in China Far Exceeds Demand
In terms of supply, the production of HCFC-22 increased by 1.5% during the first seven months of 2012 compared to the same period previous year. In terms of demand, the production volume of HCFC-22 and HFC-410A residential air conditioners decreased by 14.8% and 19.7% respectively.

2. Heat Pump Market in Finland Continues to Grow
The Finnish Heat Pump Association announced that the Finnish heat pump market has now about 540,000 heat pumps in place. As such, it surfs on the huge growth wave of the record year 2011, when the Finnish market grew by 73%.

3. HARFKO’s Scale in Parallel with Growth of Korean HVAC&R Market
HARFKO 2013 was held from March 12 to 15 in Koyang City, Korea. Across the exhibition area of nearly 16,000 m2, 20,000 visitors attended. The first HARFKO was held in 1989, and over the past 24 years it has turned into the biggest HVAC&R industry event in Korea.

4. Haier Plans New Home Appliance R&D Base in Japan for 2014
Haier Group plans to construct a new R&D base dedicated to white appliances such as refrigerators in Saitama Prefecture in 2014. The size of Haier’s R&D staff in Japan will increase from the current 180 to 300 people, including those in the washing machine R&D base located in Kyoto.

5. Mitsubishi Material Develops Reactor Core for Inverters of Energy-saving Home Appliances
A compacted powder molded core for reactors can realize noise reduction and efficiency improvement for inverters of energy-saving home appliances such as air conditioners, DC/DC converters of hybrid electric vehicles (EVs), also power conditioners for photovoltaic and power generation.
