Press Energy consumption in industry down 2.3% in 2018 on the previous year

In 2018, the German industry consumed 3,981 petajoules of energy. This was a decrease of 2.3% compared with 2017. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the major part was used for energetic purposes such as electricity and heat production (86%).
