The Southeast Asian VRF market of seven countries, namely Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Myanmar, recorded sales of 58,000 units in 2017, an 10.8% increase compared with 2016. Demand from commercial buildings, villas, and hotels has been rising sharply in the region, and is the main driver of market growth. Southeast Asia has a year-round hot climate, but promotion of heat pump types by manufacturers has helped drive the share of heat pump VRFs surprisingly high.
