Three New Shirokuma-kun RAC Series Adopt Frost Wash

2018-04-29
Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning has adopted Frost Wash for its new Stainless Clean Shirokuma-kun E, W, and G series comprising 22 models, which were placed on the market in early March. An automatic cleaning function for a heat exchanger, Frost Wash can wash away dust or oil stains sticking to the heat exchanger, which may cause an unpleasant odor, by automatically freezing the heat exchanger inside an air conditioner and melting it quickly. The Stainless Clean Shirokuma-kun Premium X series that was released in October 2017 was the first in the Japanese room air conditioner (RAC) market to incorporate this Frost Wash function, which, since then, has been gaining popularity among users.

The E and W series already incorporated Stainless Clean system, Hitachi’s original technology adopting stainless steel that has the effect of removing bacteria and viruses. The G series, which has newly joined the Stainless Clean Shirokuma-kun lineup, also incorporates the Stain-less Clean system.

The E and W series have newly incorporated the Frost Wash Standard, while the G series has newly incorporated the Frost Wash Light. The Frost Wash Standard is equipped with an automatic cleaning function that uses a Kurashi Camera, and the Frost Wash Light is equipped with a basic function that comprises automatic cleaning which is performed periodically depending on operating hours and manual cleaning. Each series features various functions from which customers can choose according to their needs.
