Asia’s Largest Cold Chain Agricultural Products Distribution Center in Ningbo

China General Chamber of Commerce officially started the construction of a cold chain logistics distribution center for agricultural products in Meishan, Beilun, Ningbo. With a total investment of RMB 700 mil-lion (US$ 110 million), this project covers an area of 160,000 m2, and is planned to comprise three environ-mentally friendly smart refrigerated warehouses with a total capacity of 60,000 tons, as well as three refrigerated warehouses for cross-border e-commerce business and trade with a total storage area exceeding 120,000 m2. The Phase one project has started, and comprises two environ-mentally friendly smart refrigerated warehouses. The Phase two project is planned to be started in the second half of the year.
 
China General Chamber of Commerce plans to team up with state-owned enterprises and member enterprises to invest RMB 50 billion (US$ 9 billion) as an industry fund to build up a new-generation smart, environmentally friendly, high efficient and modern service industry zone for cold chain and commerce trading logistics, centered on Meishan Zone while covering key cities along the Belt and Road initiative countries, the Yangtze River economic belt, and the Beijing-Tianjin area.
 
When completed, this project will be integrated in an international cold chain agricultural products export and import distribution center in Asia with the largest scale, the highest degree of intelligence, and superior public service.
