Annual EHPA Forum on ‘Decarb Cities’ on May 16 in Austria

2018-04-27
European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) will hold the annual forum at MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, Austria, on May 16, 2018, with the topic of Decarb Cities. An increasing share of humans live in cities and this trend requires no-pollution solutions to maintain local air quality, reduce the effect of heat islands, and provide the fair share of cities in the fight against climate change. The forum will be divided in three sessions. In the first session, representatives of proactive cities that have already made substantial steps in the energy transition and are close in setting best practice examples, for other cities to follow, will explain how they have dealt the most prevailing challenges. In the second session, city planners and researchers will discuss the challenges from a planning perspective on how can the quest for zero emission cities be modeled and which tools are available to monitor execution over time. During the third and last session, light will be shed into progressive and innovative projects, which prove that any challenge can be solved with the use of sustain-able and smart tools that move away from the use of fossil fuels and combustion.
