ABRAVA and ANVISA: Training Controllers in Brazil

The technical cooperation term between ABRAVA and ANVISA, National Health Surveillance Agency, marked the beginning of the second phase of controller training focused on the inspection of air conditioned environments. ABRAVA’s National Departments of Qualindoor and Maintenance and Contractors are responsible for the training, which embodies the basic concepts of air conditioning, legislation, installation, maintenance, among other subjects on the agenda. In the agenda deter-mined by ANVISA for 2018, agents from eight states, namely, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Santa Catarina, Vitória, Natal, Sergipe, Recife, and Fortaleza, will be trained.
 
Of ANVISA’s 27 units, six units received training and about 80 inspectors were trained in 2017. It is estimated that more than 100 persons will be trained in 2018. The objective of the action is to train inspectors based in ports, airports, and borders.
 
The course program to be conducted by engineers Leonardo Cozac and Arnaldo Lopes Parra covers the basic concepts of air conditioning, installation, maintenance, air renewal, internal air quality, standards and legislation, and air conditioning technical inspection.
