ACRA 2018 Now Opening for Online Registration

— On June 10–13 in Sapporo, Japan

The ninth Asian Conference on Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (ACRA 2018) will be held from June 10 to 13 at Sapporo Convention Center (SORA) in Sapporo, Japan. ACRA is a forum for exchanging the latest scientific and technological information in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) fields in Asia.
ACRA started in 2002 in Kobe, and has been followed by Beijing (2004), Gyeongju (2006), Taipei (2009), Tokyo (2010), Xian (2012), Jeju Island (2014), and Taipei (2016). This time, ACRA 2018 is organized by Japan Society of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (JSRAE), with the support from many sponsors. More than 300 attendees mainly from Asia are expected to gather in Sapporo.
 
In ACRA 2018, four plenary key-note lectures will be given on June 11 and 12 by distinguished researchers in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning. The following are details of the plenary lectures: ‘Efficient uses of low grade thermal­ energy for power, cooling, and heating’ (Prof. Ruzhu Wang, Shanghai Jiao Tong University), ‘Two-phase flow and convection in falling film evaporators of water chillers’ (Prof. Liang-Han Chien, National Taipei University of Technology),­ ‘Non-equilibrium two-phase flow of R600a at subcooled temperatures­ in an R600a refrigeration system’ (Prof. Ji Hwan Jeong, Pusan National­University), and ‘Thermodynamic properties of next generation refrigerants’ (Prof. Yukihiro Higashi, Kyushu University).
 
Two workshops on timely topics such as natural refrigerants and heat pumps are also planned on June 12. In addition, more than 200 informative oral presentations will be given in various technical sessions on refrigeration and air conditioning from June 11 to 13. The submitted papers will be peer-reviewed and published in the conference proceedings.

The welcome reception party and banquet will be held on June 10 and 12, respectively. These side events will be good opportunities for attendees to exchange the latest information, while enjoying food and drinks in a friendly atmosphere.
