According to the IMF, Nigeria’s GDP growth rate was a -1.6% in 2016, dragged down by the col-lapse of oil prices. The growth rate of the country’s manufacturing industry, which largely relies on imports of raw materials, dropped sharply due to a shortage of foreign currency.
