VRF (variable refrigerant flow) systems has transformed the building air conditioning market since they debuted 28 years ago in 1982. Daikin was the first manufacturer to develop and introduce VRF systems, now in their 5th generation of development. In addition to Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric (Melco), Hitachi, Toshiba Carrier, Sanyo, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), and Fujitsu General are also actively developing the market with their own original technology.
