Short Supply of Fluorite Causes Soaring Prices

Since 2001, China has begun to operate a quota system for fluorite exports. It has been increasing tariffs to limit the export of fluorite, and the Fluorite Exploitation License has not been provided since 2003, which has resulted in a shortage of fluorite, the source material of fluorine. In addition, foreign fluorite chemical enterprises are eyeing China’s rich fluorite resources and transferring their production to China in succession, further intensifying the lack of fluorite.
